“The act of suddenly ceasing all communication with someone the subject is dating, but no longer wishes to date. This is done in hopes that the ghostee will just “get the hint” and leave the subject alone, as opposed to the subject simply telling them he/she is no longer interested. Ghosting is not specific to a certain gender and is closely related to the subject’s maturity and communication skills. Many attempt to justify ghosting as a way to cease dating the ghostee without hurting their feelings, but it in fact proves the subject is thinking more of themselves, as ghosting often creates more confusion for the ghostee than if the subject kindly stated how he/she feels.”

Am I the only one who hasn’t heard of ghosting? I just realized this was a thing a few weeks ago. I’ve had my fair share of oddballs trying to date me, but I couldn’t just “Ghost” them. That sounds so harsh. I’ve gone to bed many times wondering why I wasn’t good enough, and if you’ve ever done the same; you wouldn’t ghost anyone. Every guy I’ve lost interest in, I’ve been able to talk to them and express my concerns. Now, I don’t give them the 100% truth, I’ll just say I’m not really interested in pursing this anymore. You don’t have to tell them they’re a bum, annoying, or any other derogatory statement.
